A Romantic Countryside Wedding at Midelney Manor Somerset
Midelney Manor was the perfect venue for this quintessentially English garden wedding…
I really enjoyed being Emily and Adam’s wedding photographer at Midelney Manor last year; a day full to the brim with sunshine, smiles and beautiful scenery! Rambling roses, foxgloves and Somerset hedgerow inspired installations by The Petal Emporium were the backdrop to their wedding, and it reminded me of something you’d find in the storybook ‘The Secret Garden’.
Beautiful Bride Emily had her preparations in a gorgeous Somerset village with thatched chocolate-box cottages. Her bridesmaids wore pretty floral printed summer dresses in pastel shades and she accessorised with Tiffany & Co pearls as something borrowed from her Mum. Their wedding ceremony was held at a local village church, that had a stunning painted ceiling and stain glass windows. It was lovely to see so many of the local neighbours and community greet and congratulate the newlyweds afterwards.
On arrival at Midelney Manor, the Bride, Groom and their guests enjoyed champagne and canapés in the gardens. I love capturing weddings at this time of year at Midelney Manor, as we are just spoilt for choice with backdrops for photos with beautiful blooms overflowing everywhere you look. We snuck away for a few bridal portraits in front of the Manor House ahead of some drizzle.
Champagne toasts and lots of feasting was held in the bell tent, which was decorated romantically with milk churns, wildflowers and festoon lighting. Afterwards, the couple opted to cut their cheese cake in the woodland ahead of their first dance. What a beautiful day!
